Although orthodontics treatment begins during teenage years and adulthood, we recommend that children pay their first visit to the orthodontics around the age of seven to determine whether any maturational changes are likely to develop. At Aliso Niguel, we are able to determine whether orthodontic treatment is required based on dental issues such as; overbite, underbite, crossbite, the spacing between the teeth, crowding of the teeth or crooked teeth. More major concerns such as temporomandibular disorders (TMD/TMJ) may require consistent visits to the orthodontist to monitor the onset of any developing problems.
